Overall I like K&M microphone stands. I own several tripod base stands with booms and I own two of these one handed stands.Stacking... The instruction sheet included with the stand is in German, which I don't read. But there are illustrations that I can follow. The manufacturer recommends that you stack the stands by aligning the post from the top stand over a round hole on the lower stand. The problem is that the hole is too small for the top stand to fit all the way through. The result is that the top stand floats and wobbles around the small hole and the base of the top stand doesn't make full contact with the bottom stand. It's difficult to describe in words but the bottom line is that it's not stable in this configuration. What does work is if you align the pole of the top stand over the larger cutout area of the bottom stand. This configuration will allow the base of the top stand to make full contact with the bottom stand and be stable.Size of microphone tread... The product description doesn't specifically state it, but in case you're wondering, the microphone thread size is 5/8 inch, which is standard in the US for most microphone stands. It is not 3/8 inch, which is common on Europe.Shaft locking mechanism... The one-handed grip allows you to easily adjust the height of the stand with one hand, but it comes with a trade off. The result is that it doesn't lock as tightly as a tradition twist lock stand. With moderate force you can push the shaft down without pressing the release lever. This behavior is more noticeable when you have a heavier microphone mounted on the stand and push down on it lightly. The shaft may move easily while in the locked position.Overall it's not a perfect design but it is very convenient to adjust the height of the stand. This stand is also less costly than some other one-handed stands.

What have I done all my life without these!!Gone are the days when it takes 3 trips to bring out 8 mic stands. These babies stack ontop of eachother. I can carry all 8 at a time now!Gone are the days when adjusting the mic meant an awkward moving and holding of your hand holding the height and your other twisting. Grap, clamp, boom.Gone are the days when your thumb-to-index skin gets slammed by a heavy mic when adjusting. These mic stands are awesome!!!! The only catch is that the handle does not orient independent of the mic clip, so you will have to use the included pieces to "lock" the clip at the right angle.
