4Quality, Value, Function, worth every penny.
By A Customer
I wanted to upgrade to a solid fluid head tripod for my Canon Hv-40, and My DSLR 60d so I could finally get video pan and tilt shots smooth and slow. This Head is perfect for my needs as I have a fairly light setup. This one is a keeper for me. This fluid head is very smooth and easy to control once you get the tension adjusted, no bounce back. standard mount quick release plate included. Legs are solid and can spread to almost ground level, center post is long a solid too. This tripod has some weight to it, 9 lbs., but you need that for stability.Get more details here [...]I'm ordering a bag for it to keep it nice now that I know I'm keeping it.I highly recommend ordering everything you can from amazon.com, LLC. only (not other market place sellers listed on amazon), free shipping, free return shipping if defective.

5Solid, sturdy, smooth
By Amy Jo
Bought this to shoot HDVideo with my Canon 500D. Saw a video using this and was sold! This is the best price anywhere. It performs exactly as expected. The tripod is solid and sturdy. The head is smooth. Nice to know I can swap out the legs for some lighter ones and keep this awesome head if I'm traveling...

5Great Tripod for Video!
By Michael Shubic
I am a travel writer and videographer ([...]), I needed a lightweight, high quality tripod with a fluid head...that wouldn't break the bank. I researched for at least a month before settling on this Manfrotto. I am so happy with my purchase...it was exactly what I was looking for. Very nice quality construction, quick and easy to extend the legs, great pans. Can't say enough good things. This is a pretty light-weight tripod, so some people may not like that, but I do a lot of hiking, etc. where I need to lug this around, so it works perfectly for me.

5Excelent
By JCAngel
They fix two problems in this fiberscope:- The outer shaft has mount to the borescope and that doesn't put all the pressure on the fiber optic inner shaft. However is a little difficult to insert the fiber shaft into it. The outer shaft must be perfectly straight.- The battery door now has a screw. In the last model it had a hinge, that was just a thinner section of the plastic case that you bend to open and close. It looked like it could break off from material fatigue after opening and closing a few times. The focusing mechanism easy to dajust. It focuses your eye to the projected image. Once adjusted, you don't need to adjust it again. Anything farther than about 0.25 inch is viewable. It comes with a very long case to keep the cable straight.I'm ordering another unit.

3Good scope
By Charles M. Seitz
This is a good scope. The light xenon failed instantly, fortunately it came with a spare. The outer shaft must be perfectly straight in order to insert the fiber shaft into it. I am dissapointed that the outer shaft has no mount to the borescope and that puts all the pressure on the fiber optic inner shaft. seems it will damage the fibers eventually if you are not carefull.

1Bad Right Out of the Box
By nightskywatcher
I purchased this model from Mid-American Tool in April and it was defective right out of the box. There is something wrong with the focusing mechanism in that I cannot get a focused image no matter what position the blue focusing lever is in. I also varied the distance of the end probe to the objects being visualized and this did not improve the eyepiece focusing issue. However, while I generally have good vision, I put on my reading glasses and found with the focusing lever rotated all the way over to the left (counter-clockwise), I could get a very small focused view if I held the eyepiece approximately 8 to 10 inches away from my eye. This should provide the best example of how truly out of whack the focusing is for the borescope I received.I have requested a Return Goods Authorization number from ProVision (actually Chicago Miniature Lighting LLC) for the return of my new PV2 borescope for repair or replacement, however, they are not being responsive. I will update this review when and if ProVision gets their act together and stands behind their product.

Yamaha YSP-4000BL Digital Sound Projector (Black) Product Description:

  • Analog to HDMI Video Upconversion, Scaling to 720p/1080i
  • Built-in FM Tuner and XM Radio Ready
  • iPod Compatible via optional YDS-10
  • 42 Speakes - 120W Total Power

Product Description

The new YSP-4000 Digital Sound Projector offers versatile new features such as, 1080p-compatible HDMI, analog video to HDMI digital video up-conversion, and component/composite inputs. Other features include: iPod and XM HD surround compatibility, built-in FM tuner, RS-232C for custom installation and a wide variety of beam settings, including My Surround Beam, for a true multi-channel surround sound experience from a single component. The YSP-4000 applies the Digital Sound Projector technology to precisely control the orientation of the sound by focusing it through multiple beams. The center channel sound is heard directly, while sounds from other channels are heard after reflecting off walls. The result is true multi-channel surround sound that sounds just like a multi-speaker system ¿ but without the need for extra speakers! As amazing as it seems, the YSP-4000 can actually deliver multi-channel sound that surrounds listeners the same way that sound from front, center and rear speakers does. DVD movies and other digital sources sound just the way they are supposed to. Dolby Pro Logic II is included, so even 2-channel TV's sound can be heard in true multi-channel surround. Its elegant space-saving design avoids the need of numerous speakers and cables. It can be wall mounted or placed on a shelf or rack. The YSP-4000 has a powerful and efficient digital amplifier built in. It powers the 40 beam drivers at 2W each and the two woofers at 20W each, for a total of 120W of power. There is no need for the customer to purchase an additional amplifier or receiver.

5THE solution for having both surround sound and an uncluttered room.
By Wayne Fogel
I now have the new Yamaha YSP 4000 and having tried it out on over twenty different disks, can say without equivocation that it is amazing. So long as you have a room with a good back wall and at least one sidewall, it will deliver incredibly good 5.1 surround sound. Will it be as good as top end systems with five distinct and separate speakers costing $5,000 or more? Of course not. Will it be as good as or better than receiver/speaker systems available today for $3.000? Yes. In other words, this newest Yamaha stands clearly at the point of diminishing returns. After installing it and listening to it, you may decide that you do not need a subwoofer. It did Chicago beautifully. I decided I wanted one for some of the accurate bass on great classical music. The setup is easy, but when the screen tells you to get out of the room - GO! The sounds emitted during the setup are designed to send cats and dogs into fits of madness. Do not try to audition this unit in a 'big box' store. It relies on nearby walls to help it work. If you have a friend who has taken the plunge, go and listen to it within a real listening area. Anyone who lives in or visits Central FL leave a comment on this thread and I will cheerfully invite you to visit and make up your own mind. If you live in a place where you cannot drill holes in your wall or if you do not want wires and speakers all over the place - this may be the solution for you. It was for me.

5Simple solution for bedroom that works as advertised
By Ross E. Devalois
Great solution to surround sound when you don't want a complex installation or are unable to run wires to surround speakers. Easy setup, upscaling looks fine, audio sounds much better than tv speakers. I have this hooked up with a DirecTv HR21, Samsung DVR-VR357 (Combo DVD-VCR) and am very happy with the features. Auto setup was quick, easy and very effective. HDMI cable reduced the clutter from about 8 cables to 2. The upscaling even makes vcr media look acceptable on a 32" LCD.I would point out this is not a audiophile system. I much prefer my home theater setup for dedicated audio listening. Great for rooms with 4 walls, and some space (maybe 3-6ft) behind the normal listening positions to give the rear projected sounds room to work. I would also caution against trying to have more than 2 or 3 devices attached as the input selection and switching functions are somewhat limited.

4Rock n Roll
By Stevie
Bought the sound bar a month ago now and have been thoroughly happy with it. Sound is great, easy to set-up. As a relative novice audiophile I wanted something that was easy and looked good - last thing I wanted was to drill holes run cables and pay someone to have to redecorate.Couple of things that I think Yamaha could do better; the menu is a little 1980's pong like and difficult to navigate. There is also some confusion on DVD/TV/STB naming on the screen (but I did find an attached addendum doc in the box). I'd like to have seen a couple more optical inputs - I'm using both for my Sonos and TV. I've also had some problems with centralizing my hdmi sources (I wanted to run the cable HDMI in and then output to my old component plasma; I'm not 100% sure whether its my lack of experience or a gap - but the documentation isn't great and I didn't get it working. All in all, I've been happy. The selection of different sound enhancements does definitely make a difference.I also bought a FSW050 subwoofer with it. I tried with and without the subwoofer and it makes a big difference and is well worth the extra hundred bucks to take some of the strain off of the soundbar.[Update] I've had the system now for two months. All in all I'm happy with it but it does limit some of your options for upgradability. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. As a piece of technology is still rocks, sound is excellent. I think it's short 1 HDMI to be honest. Some of the advanced configuration is also difficult and as yet I'm not sure of the best way to proceed. The wife also now wants the ability to listen to the TV in the kitchen, so I think an audio out for a potential 2nd zone would also be useful (wireless speakers are getting better...).All in all - Still happy but make sure you are 100% adamant that this is the way you want to go before investing what is a good chunk of cash.[Update 2] I felt I should put this in.... I've since fully loaded the YSP and have been very happy with the flexibility you have on configuration. You can effectively use digital and analog inputs together and toggle via the remote. This has allowed me to run a computer (via a svideo videocard to component video adapter) and a wii (also with a component video connection). This really completes the set-up and means I need just one hdmi cable to go to the TV which is fantastic simplicity. I now have:Cable box [HDMI]Oppo DVD [HDMI]Sonos [Digital Audio]Computer [Coaxial Digital Audio + Component]Nintendo Wii [Analog Audio + Component]The unit continues to amaze me and I'm very happy... but still would like to see another HDMI.

well made elegant case, very sharp cutters. it would be nicer if the clippers come with the plastic covers on the side, likes my other models they make, to catch and hold the cut pieces of nails.

I'd previously purchased the Seki Edge Ss-109 Satin Slim Clipper, and was extremely happy with it. This Grooming Kit adds a straight-edge fingernail clipper and a toe nail clipper, and they are both every bit as excellent as our original Ss-109 purchase. I highly recommend them all!

4Good but not perfect
By H. Jiang
When I first heard about the Digital Sound Projector from Yamaha I thought it would be a prefect solution for my family room where I do not (or cannot) run the cables to hook up rear (L/R) speakers. I pre-ordered YSP-3000 from Amazon in September 2007.I have the YSP-3000 hooked up in my family room for more than a week now, here is the list of good and bad about the device:The good:- Excellent sound quality with Dolby Digital 5.1 supported sources such as my digital cable box (via HDMI interface/cable).- Setup is easy. You ran Intelibeam from the device; in less than 20 mins you got a customized sound projecting environment. You can always tweak the settings manually but I found the auto-setting works just fine.- YSP-3000 also functions as HDMI switch (1 output, 2 inputs) where you can switch audio/video between DVD player and cable TV without selecting input source from your TV set. That is, connect the output HDMI port off YSP-3000 to your TV, then connect your cable box and DVD players to YSP-3000. You only need to use the YSP-3000 remote to choose between DVD and cable box.The bad:Here is my biggest problem with YSP-3000. It does NOT support newer version of Dolby Digital TrueHD, nor Dolby Digital Plus off the box!! I hooked up a Toshiba HD DVD player (model# HD-A30), and guess what, my audio channel on YSP-3000 became 2-channel stereo instead of 5.1. To by pass this problem, I had to hook-up my DVD player using optical audio connection as oppose to HDMI, and change the video output from HDMI to component video output. By doing so, I no longer can switch between DVD and cable using YSP-3000, and (in theory) receiving less quality image because I cannot use HDMI for my DVD.I contacted Yamaha support, I was told that YSP-3000 does not indeed support Dolby Digital TrueHD nor Dobly Digital Plus, which have became the standard audio format for every HD DVD movie shipped out there. My Toshiba HD DVD player only offers three choices of audio output 1) AUTO (which is the one I am using, and it is recommend for digital sound), 2) PCM (which is 2-chanael, not 5.1 with surround sound, and 3) Downmix PCM, which is also 2-channel instead of 5.1.So I have the latest Digital Sound Projector (YSP-3000), with latest HD DVD player (Toshiba HD-A30), with latest HD-DVD movies yet I cannot enjoy 5.1 sound environment without downgrading my video output from HDMI to component. That's a shame. I hope there will be a firmware upgrade in the future with either Yamaha or Toshiba devices (by the way, I already updated the firmware on Toshiba HD DVD player to v1.1, which is the latest as to date) to provide support of DD+, or DD TrueHD.

4Great product but some oddities
By Philip J. Mayo
I am still playing with many of the features but already there are some oddities that may give buyers pause.Tuning FM stations and setting preset is done oddly from the supplied remote. I cannot even begin to describe it. It is not at all intuitive. The remote allows you to control a TV and another AV device but is very limited. For example, changing the input source on my Samsung LCD TV requires selecting enter after you scroll through a list of sources. The TV controls provided on the remote include only a few TV control buttons, none which are enter or select, so I can bring up and scroll through the source list but I cannot close it. I am still switching between remotes. This is of course a mix of Samsung and Yamaha oddities. There is no system connection terminal port to support the YST-FSW050 subwoofer being promotionally offered with the YSP-3000. There is no system control port at all. Odd with the YSP-3000 acting an AV receiver substitute. The height is just a bit too high for placing it on the same surface with many LCD televisions. I know the technology may be the limiter, but there could have been some effort to shorten the height to accomodate most of the televisions being sold. All the connections except the HDMI connections face down. The gap provided for connectors is not always ideal. I have had to substitute my Monster Toslink cables with more generic cables because the terminator on the Monster cables are too long to fit underneath. I could see other cable terminations suffering a similar limit. They provided a stick-on cable clip but no suggestions on best placement. I put mine in a spot I thought ideal and discovered after it would have been better rotated 90 degrees. Unfortunately the tack on the stick-on is so high, I cannot even attempt to remove it without tools.I may discover more oddities as I go, but I thought I'd let you know there are oddities to consider. Yamaha makes a solid product but then controlling, configuring, and placing the product may frustrate many.

4Practical!
By B. Atighechi
My thoughts on this unit are as follows...very easy to set upNice lookingvery practicalmuch-much better than any TV speakergreat for bedrooms/dens/offices***However****If anyone wants to go the easy route of buying this for true/dynamic surround sound,,,think again. Under no circumstances, this will replace a 5 speaker system! Compared to a good 5.1--7.1 system, the YSP sounds contained and weak. For this amount of $$$$ you can buy an receiver/sub/and 5 bookshelf speaker that can beat this any day.

5Necessary part to change; easy to buy and easy to install
By Inspector Gadget
A broken belt unit can lead to bit of a clean-up job inside your printer, so replacing the belt unit is for peace. Changing the belt unit in the Brother duplexing color laser model HL4040CDN simple. With the power switched to "Off", open the front of the printer as if changing toner. Slide out the drum unit until it stops. Remove the drum unit and set it on a clean paper on a table top. Lift the old belt unit out. It lifts from this green tab at the front of the belt unit. It weighs only a couple of pounds so it is easy to lift up and out from the printer. Replacing is the reverse of the process. Note: If you are changing out the excess toner box, it sits right below the belt unit, and that is just one more step to replace. I changed out the excess toner box while changing out my belt unit because it was about due, too. Afterwards the instructions walked me through the procedure to reset the belt unit counter via the on-printer menu. The procedure took 9 minutes in total to change both. The price is about $25 less via Amazon--delivered--than it is to buy in the local Office Depot. We have gone 37,000 pages printed thus far in two years. We are on the original drum. There is no toning, and no dots or streaks appearing on the image. The drum is behaving well thus far.Amazon's ordering process was easy. Order processing was by the next day. And delivery took 2 days--to Hawaii. And we had selected Super Saver Shipping which was free.

3I don't recomend
By Renae
I don't recommend this DVD player due to it's poor mechanics. The door will sometimes not open and you have to press eject a few times. The USB feature is nice if you have picture you would like to show someone while your waiting to start the movie. I do recommend Yamaha home audio due to there great customer service. But I don't recommend this product.

4Solid and loaded with features
By Paul G. Martinson
I bought this for the DivX feature so I can watch downloaded TV Shows or Movies. I love the USB slot on the front. I can just put my downloaded files on my jump drive and plug it in and watch them. You can of course write your files to CD or DVD and that works great too. When viewing video files on the menu you can only view 4 files before having to scroll down. I also wish you could change to USB mode from the front of the player instead of just the remote. I read another review where some one complained about the loading time after powering on the device, but it only takes about 20 seconds to load after turning on the player before you can open the disc drive or before inserting a USB device. So far this has been very solid compared to a cheap Phillips DivX DVD player that I had. The Phillips player would intermittently freeze and turn off in the middle of watching something and died after just a few years. I would highly recommend this over any Phillips DivX player.

5TWEAK THE SETTINGS - not all DVD's are meant to be upconverted
By Mark T. Hall
My first upconverting deck, a Samsung DVD-HD960, crapped out on me after a year and half (I shoulda seen that coming; it had stability issues right out of the box). I've had a Yamaha SACD/DVD-Audio deck for some years now and it's been a solid performer so, although I couldn't find much in the way of other reviews of this item, I figured that for the price it was worth looking at. Very glad I did. I have it hooked up via HDMI to a Samsung DLP set and connected to my A/V receiver with RCA jacks. The first thing I noticed was the sound - a definite improvement over my previous deck, but then again Yamaha's reputation is built on their audio performance. Then I pulled out the discs I use to demo and tweak: The Searchers (technicolor) The Last Picture Show (B&W) and The Bob Newhart Show (70's TV Series). The Searchers looks practically high-def in 720p, Last Pic Show had excellent gradations of blacks, whites, and grays (also 720p), but The BN Show looked best in 480p. So far only one of my DVD's, the Criterion edition of Two-Lane Blacktop actually looked best in 1080i. Understand that when you upconvert, you are upconverting picture grain as well; a lot of my older DVD's look best in 480p. There are a multitude of useful settings, all easily understood and executed, on this deck. If, like me, you're not planning to get on the Blu-Ray bus anytime soon, I'd recommend that you consider this DVD Player.

5A Perfect Match For the Yamaha Digital Sound Projectors
By Wayne Fogel
This subwoofer pairs perfectly with the Yamaha YSP-4000BL Digital Sound Projector to provide incredible sound for a home theater. The setup for the YSP-4000 will automatically do the crossover for the subwoofer. Using the enclosed Yamaha link cable, the subwoofer will automatically be turned on and off with the YSP-4000. I can and do strongly recommend this combination for a home theater that not only sounds great buts looks good as well.

5Excellent sub for the price!
By macjonny
This little unit rocks. It is low profile, looks great, and fits into a narrow space. Don't plan on stacking components on top of it even though you may be tempted, as the rumbling of the bass can disrupt other components. You can also place this vertically. Like the other reviewer, it is perfect with the ysp-4000 as the sync cable turns it off and on with the main speaker. I think other yamaha components may have this also.

4an ugly duckling adds the right "quacks" to our system
By S. Pinkert
Am not an "audio nut"....I just like good sound out of our system.... so pleae take these words with an appropriate "grain of salt". This Yamaha sub woofer was a snap even for a novice like me to install...and it just fit into the space alloted to it. The sound it puts out is as promised...very nice bass ....On the other hand, this unit would not win a "Miss AMerica" contest when it comes to looks and there are many more attractive sub woofers out there to choose from. However, I didn't buy this one for it's sleek and suave appearance...just for the sound it puts out and the price point to achieve that sound. On that counts, this ugly duckling "quacks" just right.

5Good unit for the money
By Timothy G. Potter
I've bought a several pumps, since I started water gardening, good ones and bad ones. I bought this pump 2 seasons ago, to run a smaller pond in my garden. It's been going strong now for 2 seasons, and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. I pulled it out last winter, drained and stored it. I put it back out this spring. I have it attached to a small waterfall weir. Overall, it seems like the majority of the "Savio" equipment I purchase is pretty good quality. Definitely a good buy!

5SAVIO WM3600 Pump
By "Top Bix"
I purchased and installed a SAVIO WM3600 pump in my backyard KOI pond in Aug 2004. It has run 24/7 untill last night (July 3, 2012) when the impeller shaft to the impeller sheared at the attachment nut. I would say that the product is the best pump I have ever used. 8 years of continuous use,WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just ordered another one. This pump is very strong and quiet, I used it in my 1850 gallon outdoor KOI Pond in Southern Ca.

Purchased a 3600 GPH, Model# WM3600 in May of 2008 from Amazing Pond Supplies, it died a few weeks ago. 35,000+ hours is pretty darn good performance.
