I have been thrashing a Kickboard since 1998. So they are durable and rebuildable. The Kickboards use the standard inline Sk8 wheels and bearings. [ I put LED self powered wheels on mine for extra bling. Looks awesome at night. ]The deck is springy and almost impossible to bust up. Made of some composite of wood/bamboo and fiberglas or whatever it is its plenty strong enough for my 220 pounds. The 2 wheel fwd trike design is much more stable than a 2 wheel scooter. It handles pretty much like a skate board. You steer with your feet not the stick. The stick is mighty handy to pick up the kick and to hold onto for extra stability.Or to ollie with if your into tricks. Retract the stick in half put it over your shoulder and the deck hangs neatly on your back. You can go from riding to stowed and walking in a jump and 3 steps. " Sorry officer I didn't know you were not supposed to skate here." Then as soon as he turns away jump on and scoot off quickly. About quickly. The Kick gives you the speed of running with the effort of walking. And the brake is very handy. It gives you the courage for bombing that big hill. The 3 wheel design with the brake does have a bit of a tendency to speed wobble a bit in the rear end sometimes at speed. Just a little scary which big hills should be anyway, not life threatening. Keep calm and carry on. I have ridden over railroad tracks successfully, but thats not fur sure . Folded up the Kick takes up less space than a long board. Handy to have in the trunk of your car. Easier to haul on da plane than your bike. I have several kicks of slightly different designs and they all work just fine. O yeah the quick release at the halfway point of the stick slips no matter how I tighten it. But just a bit and I think you could replace it with a better QR, it looks like a standard mountain bike part. Mildly annoying, not life threatening. I HIGHLY recommend you get yourself a Kickboard. It's a very good thing to have.Thank you, whoever invented the Kick. Todd R. Caspell
