Product Description
In beautiful vintage Cream color with maroon lettering housed in a sturdy 16 gauge steel housing that measuring ONLY 4" x 5.75" We are the first to put out an exact copy of the legendary Vintage'60's Univibe on a large scale. Ours has that dripping Phase-Chorused tone that made Jimi's "Machine Gun" so epic! Now it's tiny enough to fit on the most cluttered pedalboard, and because of the mini-DV's unique voltage doubling circuit you can use any standard 9 volt DC adapter (Fulltone FPS-1 adapter is included) and inside the MDV the power is ramped up to the original Univibe's 18+ volts DC! Features also include a mini-toggle switch to choose between Vintage/Modern settings allowing for warm original '60's Univibe grind (Vintage setting) and louder, with more output (Modern setting). Robin Trower says of his Deja'Vibe"Simply Brilliant. I use it all the time. It's the best of its kind!!" The Photocells: we're the only small company who can quite frankly afford to have the correct Glass covered, hermetically sealed photocells Custom-made. (click here for photo and more info) The bulb: getting the correct Voltage rating on this is no big deal, but does size really matter? Yes, but don't look at the size of the Glass, look at the size of the Filament (wire inside the glass)! We got it right.. And this is crucial to achieve the correct amount of brightness... it also has to flash consistently at all speeds. Our does. The Shroud: No, not a religious garment....the aluminum cover protecting the Photocells....is the inside of your clone mirrored? Too bad, the original Univibe's was and so is ours, and that's the only way to get the proper light reflection inside the photo-array. It's all in the details. By CBernard
I purchased this pedal from Moore Bros Music via Amazon - so for those of you worried about previous posts about dealing with Fulltone for purchases, you have plenty of options. This is my second Fulltone pedal, I've had the FullDrive 2 for two years and the Deja Vibe for about 3 weeks. This pedal is well built (like all Fulltone pedals) and sounds amazing. You can capture the Trower sound easily and you can easily create or enhance your tone by adding it to your current set-up. The Deja Vibe has given me more tone/sound options than I had anticipated. Switching between chorus, vibrato, the intensity knob and speed really adds flexibility to give most guitarist sounds/tones they will enjoy - then add your other favorite effects (overdrive, distortion, wah...etc) and off you go. There are other good univibe-like options out there for less money...but if you want a Univibe pedal that will last and sounds great, this is it.

With this pedal you can achieve a variety of vintage sounds using with other pedals, not using alone. Also you can use it to bring into your amp a nice vibrato like the older's fender tube amps. My only concern about the pedal is in live situations because it didn't have an on/off led indicator.

Fulltone is known for two things: quality pedals, and lousy customer relations. I have three of them, all of them are stellar and well built, and I've not had a problem with any of them. Questions sent to them will get an automated reply that includes "Thank you for contacting Fulltone. We'll be in touch if your email requires a reply.". I sent a simple question on December 7th concerning power supplies for one of their pedals and have not heard back for over three weeks, so either they're overwhelmed with email requests or my email wasn't considered worthy enough to warrant a response (yet). You would think with the large selection of pedal companies out there (and the premium prices Fulltone asks for theirs), they would be a little better with their customer interactions. I have seen other people complain about their service charges and policies, but in my mind, if you break your pedal (or even if you've had it for a while and used it regularly), you should expect to have to pay for getting it fixed. Do some research and see for yourself what other people have to say.
