As soon as my daughter showed an interest in shooting with a recurve bow after trying one at girls camp, I knew she needed one of her own. I found this Bear recurve and from past experience trusted the brand instantly. Shipped very fast and was easily assembled out of the box. I liked the fact there were 3 sizes to chose from. My daughter is almost 6 feet tall (thirteen years old) so I got the longest one (62 inch) with a 30lb pull. The riser (handle) is a beautiful two color laminated wood, light and dark with white upper and lower limbs. It came with a string which fit nice and tight in the nocks. Felt very balanced. I strung it up, pulled on it a bit and it brought back all the good memories of shooting a recurve in my youth. I bought this bow for her as a Christmas present (2012) so I cannot tell you how much she likes it yet. I'm confident she will. The only drawback is it does NOT have an arrow rest but that is easily remedied at the local sporting goods shop. It's now the 27th of December and the bow has turned out to be my daughters favorite gift. I can say nothing negitive about it. She can shoot it with ease and hit her target well, even for a beginner. She let me try and from a good 40 feet I was able to put an arrow almost completely through a hay bale. Thats good enough for me. I had purchased carbon fiber arrows with good screw in tips which is not necessary for practice but i wanted something that would last and fly straight while she learns. We did not put an arrow rest on it and I don't think we need to. I can tell you this bow will be a lasting source of entertainment because of it's quality and ease of use. Do not fear to buy.

I was looking for a low-weight bow that would not take a great deal of money or commitment to shoot. I'm 63 and just retired. I'm having a hoot with the bow shooting off the shelf with no sights. After being set up properly, the 62" bow is very forgiving. I'm not going to the Olympics so it's a great bow for the money and has the Bear name on it.

No where on this bow are the product trademarks of "Bear" the manufacturer. Instead, it is labeled "Crossfire by AIM". Sounds like false advertising.
