Larsen Tzigane 4/4 Violin String Set - Medium Gauge with Ball-end E Product Description:
- Includes Tin Plated Steel Medium Gauge Ball-end E
- 4/4 violin, Medium gauge
Product Description
Larsen Tzigane violin strings, without exaggerated tension, are built on a newly developed composite fibre bundle core. Tension creates volume rather than carrying power. The unique combination of overtones makes for a quality sound not unlike that of a great singer - a sound that carries while, at the same time, is pleasant to the ear of the player. Tzigane strings offer a sound and response similar to gut strings, providing a broad range of tonal colors. A complex, rich tone with good focus and projection.

I have been playing violin for 13 years and am very impressed with these strings. I researched everywhere about which strings I should buy and finally decided on these. I originally thought the price was a little bit on the expensive side, but I decided to go ahead with them. I have been using them very much for 3 weeks now and they are truly brilliant. They feel much more flexible than any other strings I have ever had. The G and D sound very strong and rich on my violin, the A is all-right (nothing special/nothing bad), and the E string is very Brilliant. All the strings have a very loud, but rich tones that bring a sounding confidence to my playing. They all respond well, but you do need to apply more rosin than it would take for all other strings. I have never written a review, but I always base what I buy off of the reviews and I am glad to say that I recommend these very much.

By Robert P. Landry
I have been playing violin for ten years. I have tried a variety of violin strings. These strings have volume and power. They have a somewhat dark sound, but it's very rich. One downfall is that they eat rosin off the bow tremendously, and if you're not careful to really keep the bow rosined, you'll lose the smoothness of the strings easily. Great G and great D. A is good, and the E is excellent, has no shrillness and is the easiest E I've ever played. They are a bit expensive, but if you're looking for a different sound from your violin, they're worth a try. If you're looking for a brighter sound from your violin, you might try Thomastik Infeld Blue. I see saw between those two- the Thomastik and Larsen.

By Jorge
I was searching for the best strings in the market, but my violin tends to sound brillant, so I read some comments about Larsen Tzigane and decided to give a try. no regrets at all, these strings sound wonderful, the E string is very good, and every other is powerful and very pleasant. In fact the teachers in the University thought I had a new violin. Was a very good choice. I'm very happy with them.***** UPGRADE COMMENT******Yes,the G string is a little bit bulky for my Witter four finetuners tailpiece, I hd to use a fine screwdriver to push it in the slot...or whatever its call.
