Product Description
The state-of-the-art VK-6C in-ceiling speakers (with woofers made from the same material as bullet proof vests) deliver rich, full audiophile sound at far less than an audiophile price.VK-6C premium grade six-and-a-half-inch Kevlar cones offer incredible strength and dispersion advantages compared to traditional woofers. Kevlar cones enable superior acoustical quality, improved mid-bass, extreme durability under high stress conditions, and are less susceptible to blowout (even when being driven at the highest levels). VK-6C speakers are weather-resistant and include pivoting one-inch liquid-cooled titanium tweeters that deliver highs beyond the audible range and smooth, accurate mid frequencies. Each pair of VK-6C speakers are packaged with both white cloth decor grilles (offering a clean, classy look for those not interested in painting their grilles), and paintable metal grilles (for those who want their speakers to completely blend in with a colored ceiling). White speaker baffles also augment contemporary cosmetics. Mounting tabs are included for easy installation.

great home theater speakers
By TX Amazon Fan
Installed 4 of these a few weeks ago, for surround and rear surround on a 7.1 system. (They are sold in pairs, but on-line descriptions don't always make this clear.) We chose them in part because of their construction (kevlar with swiveling titanium tweeter), in part because of the huge discount from MSRP, and in part because many BIC America products are widely lauded in on-line AV forums. Maybe none of those are good reasons, but the more widely-known brands seem to sell their names rather than any real difference in quality. At first, they seemed a bit harsh, but after a few hours of use mellowed to a rich, clear tone. Subwoofer is the matching VK-12, but the matching VK-6LCR wouldn't fit where we wanted it. We added a different mfr's 3.5-inch CLR, which I'm not completely thrilled with, and run the whole system off an Onkyo TX-SR806 receiver. In any case, we just ordered a third pair of VK-6Cs to see whether the front left & right will sound better, either blending with or in lieu of the L&R channels of the current 3.5" CLR.

Great Sound, great price.
By F. David
I am a musician and love the sound quality of these speakers.I am putting together a 7.1 and so far I am very satisfied with these speakers. They also look good and I keep the covers off just to see them in action.I have these for the two rear in ceiling and BIC 10 inch kevlar for the front left & right. They crank.

Lack of bass
By DaveCon
I own a lot of BIC Venturi products and these are disappointing. There is no bass (I also have 3 pairs of Polk in-ceiling speakers and 1 really cheap Pyle Pro and they all have a ton of bass). The highs are very clear. Maybe they need to be broken in, but the initial response is really lacking in bass.
