Fast perfection

The Canon EF 14mm f/2.8 II USM Autofocus Lens takes brilliant photos. This is an ultra wide angle with the shortest focal length available of all the L series lenses. It's total angle of view is an amazing 114 degrees. This is as wide as it gets unless you go to a fisheye.This great lens has newly designed optics. It contains two aspherical elements and two UD glass elements. What this means is that you get great contrast, amazing sharpness all the way to the outer edges, and fewer chromatic aberrations which sometimes happen with high resolution digital SLRs.This is a lens for pros. It is the highest quality available. To mention the technical aspects, this has a rear focusing system, fast CPU, and ring-type USM with improved electronics. This means it's faster, with more accurate auto focus.You can use this lens for architurectural shots, or any place you want an ultra wide angel. I like to shoot landscapes with this, as it gives some very impressive views of an entire terrain. When I look at the shots I've taken with this, I feel as if I was right back there, looking at the landscape.I also get some amazing flower shots with this also. It's fun to play with different subjects when you have an ultra wide angle lens, as it gives a new perspective to anything you shoot with it. The sharpness and richness of colors if fantastic. When you do closeups with this the background is nicely blurred.This has a fixed hood. It also has a gelatin filter holder in the back. I would say that if you want to take some very artistic jaw dropping photographs, this lens is a great way to do it.
