By Michael G. Jennings
I bought these separately -- I don't think this bundle was available at the time. Too bad, it was cheaper, and comes with a case. They make a great set; the three set screws on the sticks mate with depressions on the ballhead so the joint is perfectly solid. The versatility of the sticks is impressive; the distinctive design which allows the center column to be used horizontally works as advertised, and with this particular ballhead I can point the camera straight down, copy stand-style, or straight forward for shooting into a light tent. The foam grips for cold weather are a nice touch.I have had no problems with slipping on the ballhead, even with a Nikon 80, the 18-200mm VR lens, and the SB-600 flash. I LOVE being able to reposition it without taking my eyes off of the viewfinder. The switch from landscape to portrait shooting is smooth and quick. The grip action requires a strong hand -- my wife can use it but my 5-year-old can't.It's not perfect. The tripod is heavy, which is to be expected given its construction. If the quick release plate is on backwards it ALMOST works, even the locking pin, but the lock is not reliable, which is a very dangerous condition. I wish it was easier to weigh down the sticks. I wish there was another spirit level on the ballhead so that I could be sure I was pointing the camera straight down. While the legs fold out to something like 88 degrees, the ballhead mount is on the center column which has a fixed height so you can't get the camera down to the ground. An alternative short center column would be nice.UPDATE: Use the column pivot feature, THEN flatten out the legs. That gets it very close to the ground.

By Stuart Langrehr
This is a very sturdy tripod but the best thing is the ball head attachment that has a squeeze handle that lets it move in all directions very quickly. It's a tall tripod allowing much better use than many shorter units. Highly recommended for any photographer.

By joetagaz
Hard to beat this deal. Manfrotto's most popular tripod along with a great head and a nice padded carrying case for $329! I bought mine at B&H but this is the same bundle. You can read the reviews on the individual pieces separately - just to add, you won't be disappointed. Nice lightweight durable and easy to use tripod. Ditto with the head. Pull the trigger and you can adjust it anyway you like; it even has a small bullseye level to help you. The carrying case is also nice. Well constructed, easy zipper with a shoulder strap and a carrying hand on the bottom. Plenty of room for the tripod/head and you can probably throw a few other things in as well.Good buy!
