The Lightsaber Luke Skywalker wields in the Return of the Jedi has a long and complicated history. The hilt worn by actor Mark Hamill, in most of the scenes in the movie where the lightsaber is not ignited, was in fact an old Obi-Wan Kenobi 'stunt' lightsaber from A New Hope. It featured a longer lever on the center band, a conical knob on the rear above the pommel, and a D-ring attached the lightsaber to a belt clip. Cast in aluminum from a milled wooden master, this lightsaber features uneven heat sink fins which we have recreated in the interest of accuracy. For fight scenes, a newly machined, more simplified look-alike version was created. A cleaned-up version of this lightsaber was used for the close-up insert shot when Darth Vader comments on Luke constructing a new lightsaber. This became known as the 'hero' version of the prop because it was featured so prominently in a close-up. Master Replica's engineers modeled this faithful replica (measuring 1.5'h x 12'w x 1.5'd) directly from measurements taken from the surviving prop, and re-created the look from the movies with the help of extensive photographic reference materials supplied from the Lucasfilm Ltd. It's the Jedi Way

Best thing I've ever bought. Exact replica Luke Skywalker version 2 lightsaber. Full Metal. Only 1500 ever made. Last lightsaber Master Replicas company made, back in 2007. Never to be made ever again. Since Master Replica lost the license to produce them. Pretty rare. Comes with nice acyclic display case. A must buy for the truth Star Wars fan. Personally I think Luke's lightsaber was the best. Version 2 especially, with the weathering on the metal. Buy this now, before they are gone forever. 100% Worth the money.

I love this lightsaber. It's just like the movie version. I've seen some people turn their heads to look at it....mostly guys....whenever I walk around with it. Yes, I know sounds dorky...but I don't do it all the time. Just while walkin to the bookstore or something. It's always the guys that go....cooool...and the girls: 'why is he carrying that around?'Anyway, if you can afford it, buy it! My only gripe is that it is a tad heavy, and I'm sure the original, or if the lightsaber were even real, would not be this heavy. The weight makes it feel like a heavy solid candlestick. But hey...if it's heavy it cost a lot right? I have a Version 3 of this Return of the Jedi light saber that I had custom made with lights and sound etc....it's considerably lighter but also feels inexpensive because of the light weight (even though I paid twice as much to get it made). So there is some truth to the value of weight.
