5Great Product
By Mark B. Manton
I did ton's of research, wanting something that would house all my AV equipment (cable box, DVD player, receiver, etc.) so that I could "hide" everything and use it with out having to open and leave the doors open - I also needed something that was really nice looking so that it would pass my "wife" test. This was the product. It was easy to put together, looks great in our family room, it built very well and has ample room for everything. I got the pull out drawer for our DVD's and intend to order another one. I have shown one neighbor the unit - and he is now ordering it too. You won't be able to get something in a store that is as good for any cheaper - spend the money and get this.

5Beautiful furniture
By C. B. Wagner
This is a very nice piece of furniture, especially if you care about your av equipment. It was built for av equipment in addition to being a beautiful piece. It comes put together for the most part. The doors are hung and the structure is there but you need to do a few things (which is actually a good thing). The buyer first needs to put the shelves in (3, 1 behind each drawer although you could combine if you wanted). The drawers aren't held by simple little pegs you slip in a drill hole, they are a heavy piece of steel that is screwed into pots with a heavy bolt and the alan wrench provided. There are holes every couple of inches so finding a spot that works should not be difficult but one can also put them anywhere they want via a nut attachment (I didn't do that so can't comment on how well it works). After the drawers are in you can put your components in. The beauty of this is at this point there is no top on this cabinet nor are there backs. So you have the ability to see everything from 3 sides, front, top, and back. This may not sound like a big deal but when running a million wires between receiver, cable, dvr, modem, PS3, Wii, etc. it is a HUGE benefit. You can also run cables inside from compartment to compartment without them hanging out the back.Once you have everything installed, you can put on the backs. The backs go in on one side first and then ou have to pull in on a "tab" to get it to lock in place. I admit the first time I did this with each of the 3 pieces it wasn't the easiest thing to do. But I had to take a couple off in order to rerun a cable. Each future time was much easier so it loosened up a bit after the first time.So now I have my shelves and the backs on. But the top is off. Well for that, all you need to do is stick on these little pads on each corner that simply prevents the top (glass) from resting directly on the structure. It's as simple as peeling and placing a sticker. Once those are on you simply put the big piece of glass on the top. It is a deep black glass that one can not see through, it's kind of like a piano black finish which happens to match my piano black speakers exceptionally well.I mentioned the components I had above and all of that fits in only 1.5 cabinets so I have an additional 1.5 cabinets for DVD's, CD's, wii accessories, etc. There is a ton of room in this. One thing to note, this piece is wood around the sides, very nice wood, very modern but very subdued, it all but disappears when the lights are down and the movie is on. But, since it is solid, real wood, IR remotes will not work. I also purchases the IR Repeater designed by Salamander. I won't review in depth here but it works exceptionally well and is worth the ~$100 especially since you are already paying this much for a cabinet. The bottom line is I could not be happier with this product. I get wow's every time people see it. It is the nicest piece of furniture I have in my house and despite the cost, I Will have this for a very long time to come. You get what you pay for, and this was worth every penny.
