Great Tire for midwest riding

I bought a set of these Panaracer Rampage 29x2.35 to replace the 29x2.1 Kenda Small Block Eights that came on my bike. I live and ride in MN where most trails lack the significant geological features so they make up for it with tight twisting trails. The lack of features means challenge comes from speed. The SB8's gave way in the corners far too easily, the Rampage fairs much better. I can really push these tires and seem to get a little "warning slip" (versus hitting the ground like I did with the SB8s) if I over do it in a corner, but that is pretty rare. They are good on hard pack and gravel and give good traction on the steep (but short) climbs. They handle rocks and roots w/o issue. I have been very happy with these and will certainly have on my list when it comes time to replace them.If you ride on paved trails (as I sometimes do getting to the off-road trails), it's worth noting that these fatties are kind of loud. But then again they weren't designed for paved trails. ;-)

Good all around tire for front or back

I have used Rampages for about 6 months now in mud, hard pack, loose, and snow. They have performed very well in wet conditions as well as dry and are a great climbing tire. Had them in 4 inches of snow this week and they gripped very well. Have a wobble in one of them which I am trying to figure out if the tire has a defect or not.

2nd set. Lots of grip on every condition. Never a flat tire or sidewall breakage. Lasted for a whole year of riding on the toughest trails.
