I've had this feeder for several years and it certainly has some problems. First, the hanging brackets are fairly close to the feeder. If you suspend the feeder from a single cable you will have to make a spreader bar. If you don't you won't be able to get the lid off. More of a problem is the design of the lid. The lid is a standard barrel lid-not really designed for long term outdoor use. The lid is recessed and holds water. After a few years it will rust and leak. Moultrie recognizes this problem and sells a replacement domed plastic cover. This design is even worse. The squirrels chewed a large hole in it within a month. I had a problem with raccoons getting corn from the dispersing part of the feeder. Moultrie advertised a varmint guard guaranteed to fit all feeders. Guess what-it didn't. They accepted the return but shipping was on my dime. After thinking about this I think 2 stars is generous.

We've got 12 feeders on two different leases and this is the best feeder we have. Hung it from a big tree with a pulley system and it is doing great. Allows us to keep the feral hogs from tearing it up. Last year we lost five feeders to the hogs. In the coming years we will replace them with this feeder.

Love it!Make it through the winter with narly a hick-up!Holds an honest 200#'s of corn.I've found the suspended feeders get used by deer more than the ones on stands. Deer have no problem walking under and around. Plus the racoons have a harder time stealing from them.
