Good piece of furniture

The Armoire is well built and feels pretty solid. I had to minor complaints (and thus the loss of a star). I was a little disappointed that i had to screw the lid onto the top. It can be very tricky to get it lined up and centered properly. The other minor complaint that I have is that the magnetic latch on one side needed to be adjusted to get a good connection to stay closed.Having said those two complaints the jewelry chest is a very good looking piece of furniture. The wife was very very pleased.

Armoire Jewelery chest

When you order online you just hope the product is as shown in the picture. When it arrive which was right on time. The package was extremely well packaged. The only thing you had to do was attach the legs and the mirrored top which everything was pre drilled so it as a snap to do. The Chest is absolutely beautiful. It looks better than the pictures and anyone would be pleased with the purchase.

It looks nice but is not well built.

I found some damage to a side door at the hinge (pressboard cracked during installation at the factory), but corrected with some glue and longer screws (I keep a supply special furnature screws). The finish is very thin and was a little felt rough (would tend to hold onto dust more) so I buffed it with Butcher's Wax and a buffing wheel. One Drawer was not installed properly and had an extra wide gap (that bugged me), I corrected by cutting 1/8" off the bottom. The drawers do not sit evenly side to side so I glued wood shims inside the cabinet to help guide the draws into alignment when closed. Being a wood worker, I have the tools supplies and know-how to make these adjustments.I could have requested a new door be sent, but chances are it would not match and if I decided to return the unit for another, I might not have it for Christmas. It was the one my wife liked and I wasn't going to disapoint her.The top needs something to keep it from slamming closed. There is a good potential the mirror can break from a sudden drop. I am considering ideas to improve that, but for now its wrapped for Christmas.Based on the $700 list price, I would expect better to quality, even from a factory in China where it was built. With that said, my wife will love it and @ $217, I didn't mind doing a little work to see her smile.
