The RCX-4 delivers incredibly dynamic and accurate performances by utilizing a 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver coupled to Klipsch's new round MicroTractrix Horn. This magnetically shielded speaker also employs a pair of 4-inch woofers that flank the MicroTractrix horn. The woofer is a long-throw unit powered by a unique neodymium motor structure. The Cerametallic cones are lightweight with excellent rigidity, which dramatically reduce any resonance. As a result, the RCX-4 is capable of robust bass extending low enough for comfortable operation with today's built-in A/V preamp/processor and receiver crossovers. Klipsch Center Channel speaker

This is an outstanding value in a center channel speaker. I mounted this speaker in my upstairs office along with two RCW-3 in-wall speakers and the sound is fantastic. I was going to add two more speakers, but this set-up provided so much sound I decided to stay pat.

RCX-4 is the predecessor of Klipsch RC-42 II Reference Series Center Channel Loudspeaker - Each (Black). Klipsch forums say that the two speakers are largely the same. The main difference is the design. This one is a rounded design, while the RC-42 is square to fit the new design language of the reference series.I bought this to complement RB-41 II (Klipsch RB-41 II Reference Series Bookshelf Loudspeaker - Pair (Black)) though you should also be able to use these for RB-51. The RB-41 II are the new square designs, but I didn't find RCX-4 to be out of place. The colors match exactly. The logo is slightly bigger on this one, but not a lot.Most importantly, the sound matches RB-41. There was no surprise here, and if you need a center, this would be a great buy if you can find it. I bought it on close-out sale, and it was less than half of RC-42 II. It was pretty much a no-brainer.It comes with a removable pivot stand. Very handy, and very sturdy; well-made. However, it requires quite a bit more shelf height than what I have. A "cute" feature is that the logo is a reversible plaque so it can always be the right way up if you mount the speaker upside down.
