4Great first guitar
By Mr. M. A. Woods
Suprised that this has not had any reviews yet. I have bought this recently as a first guitar (at a real shop!) and I'm very happy with it. The action feels nice and I'm getting good sounds albeit with my poor playing. My guitar teacher gave it the thumbs up, although it doesn't sound quite as good as his $4k Gibson. I'm mostly into blues and easy strumming and it's fine for both. It seems to be pretty good at staying in tune, with only minor adjustments required before each session. I may want to trade up at some stage but it will be with me for a while longer.

4A Good Instrument For The Price
By Charles Pogue
I quit playing guitar for a lot of years. A couple of years ago, I decided to take up playing and songwriting again. Not having a lot of money to spend on a guitar and case, I looked at and purchased the Fender cd140s. For the low price of this instrument, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of sound, and even at the reverberation. Is it a Martin or a Taylor? No, but it plays easily, and stays in tune remarkably well for this price guitar. If you want a good guitar, but do not have a lot of money to spend, I recommend it!

5This is a wonderful sounding guitar to learn on!
By Marty German
When I was 11, in 1966, I took guitar lessons on a very similar guitar.Having not played in years, I decided to retrace my steps so I set out to find a steel string acoustic 6 string guitar like the one that I had originally learned on.This Fender CD140s turns out to be that and much more!It came with an extra peg and bridge piece as well as an allen wrench to adjust the truss rod with and I paid only $115 for it on black friday 2012. Normally, this model sells in the $180-200 price range so it was indeed a bargain price!I had it 'adjusted' for free at my local music store and all that they did was a basic adjustment of the truss rod and tune it. BTW It stays in tune amazingly well for new strings? The action is light and now perfect and no string buzz is heard ... just clean, clear, ringing notes! Sweet! The strings are the original factory Fender strings that came on the guitar and they sound great! In fact the guitar plays looks, feels and sounds like a much more expensive guitar.I've also now ordered a Musician's Friend hard case for it for only $53 and I'll review the case, once it arrives.I still have my old lesson books (Alfred's Guitar 1, 2, 3 & 4) and I'm refreshing my skills with them, rapidly. The guitar makes practicing a pleasure. It fills the room with a wonderful, joyous sound!I highly recommend this guitar for any beginner, without any reservations! It is so much better than I'd expected that it's caused me to change my plans to upgrade to a better guitar once I'd gotten used to playing it. Instead, I will just stick with this wonderful acoustic guitar!
