Great american made product! I use K and N filters in all of my vehicles and motorcycle because they work! Increased horsepower and throttle response. If you can keep your foot on a diet you should see an increase in fuel economy. My 08 fusion 2.3 went from averaging 31 to33 mpg to around 34 or 35mpg!!

KN makes a quality product for sure. Here are some thoughts:-----PRICE:The KN is about the same rate as other brand-name intakes. I am not sure that I would trust an off-brand CAI as fit could be an issue and it could also cause MAF problems. Going with the top-name brand gives me ease of mind. With the amazon price and free shipping it's tough to beat this. I also will probably get an extra 5% or so MPG so it should pay for itself within 2 years.-------------Installation:I am no mechanic, and aside from switching out head light bulbs or changing the oil, I am out of my realm. I installed it in less than an hour, and I haven't ever done a CAI install before. The installation requires you to cut the crankcase vent hose, and attach a fitting. Doing this is easy enough, but it makes me nervous as I am not sure how I will revert back to the stock intake if needed in the future. I am out of warranty so it's not a big concern. The directions were very good. There were a couple of differences, for instance it refers to a green clip on some of the vent tubes, and on my car there wasn't anything green. Still, I was able to figure everything out easy enough. There is also an Allen wrench screw that is used to secure the MAF into the KN tube; so make sure you have an Allen wrench set.Everything fits and looks good. I do have an extra part - which I cannot figure for the life of me what it is for (a rubber tube cap and bracket for it). Perhaps it was accidentally packed of maybe it is needed on different year of car than what I have---------------Fit and Finish:Super star- when I looked at it I thought it was durable plastic, but actually it is powder coated metal and it quite nice. The filter of course it top quality and all the parts fit together very well. The only downside is that it's not much of a CAI as it sits right next to the battery. The fender is letting in some cool air, and there is a heat shield, but this really isn't a conventional CAI that goes down towards the street. It's sort of a cross between a Short Ram Intake and a CAI.----------Packaging:Pretty good. They give you a California CARB sticker if needed as well as some decals for your car if you want the cops to know that you like to drive fast. It also gives you a warranty card, which I put with my other car papers but I am not sure how useful that would be if something happened.------------Performance:I really cannot tell that my car is any quicker, perhaps in the middle of the power band but the top and the bottom seem the same. Could be my ECU is still adjusting though. The MPG does seem to be better though, about 1 MPG.The sound it the best part; I won't do a cat-back as the fart-can is just too much for me. But this gives the engine a little better sound. It is still nice and quiet at less than 3,000 RPM which is good for driving down the highway.---------Overview,High qualitySounds greatEasy installGood price

By Jeff McGuire
This was an easy install, and gave me the extra power I needed. I drive up a very steep hill on a daily basis and the extra airflow allows the engine to breath easier towards the top increasing my fuel economy. I've seen a 2 to 3 MPG gain, which in Hawaii is huge. The sound from the intake is nice as well, though it's mostly a sound in the car and not outside of the car. WOT is where the power gains on this intake are really noticed. The power band kicks in at about 4200 RPM with my Fusion, and before the upgrade there was a severe lag with the stock intake. After the upgrade, I noticed that the lag is significantly decreased, and you feel the the extra horsepower kicking in at 4200 RPM. I'm looking to flash the PCM to get rid of the remaining lag.All in all, this is a great upgrade, and took about an hour as expected to install. The instructions were easy to read, and everything matched the descriptions they provided. I've read people mentioning about the green clip not being there on the vent hose, and found that myself. Though it's not a case of the instructions being inaccurate, its that the color fades and turns the clip white. This is now my second K&N Filter, and my first K&N intake, and I'm very pleased. I would highly recommend this intake for anyone looking for a different sound and a little extra power.
