Good deal and great sound and value for the price!

This is my first drum set so I may be somewhat biased. I will say I was lead singer for a band and our drummer had a Pearl drum kit which I will compare this to. This is NOT that! It does comes complete as it states with "everything you need to start playing right out of the box" All the hardware and parts needed to setup and play including six sets of drum sticks. The kit itself sounds pretty good right out of the box, you will need to look online (like on their website www.ddrum.com) for actual instructions on HOW to put the kit together as there are NONE included in the box! As weird as that sounds I have no idea why there were no instructions along with the 200 parts that are shipped to you. First thing you will definitely want to change is the drumsticks. Even though they ship you 6 pairs of sticks they are massive 5B's which are like playing the drums with logs! They are massive cumbersome sticks! They include those, I guess, assuming the new player will want a big sound except the sticks are cumbersome and will actually slow you down. I've had the kit and been playing for a month now and highly recommend Vic Firth 5A sticks. They are balanced and thinner and lighter allowing for better control. Second thing you will notice is the cymbals are cheap and don't sound great. They are passable but sound tinny and weak. And thirdly the bass pedal. That's also a very personal choice but I found the pedal not very responsive as well as the spring on the left hand side keep coming off no matter how often or hard I tightened it. Overall I love the drums and the value for the money.
