Product Description
Using the Gefen Component Audio Extender you can extend your audio and video signal easily. Simply place your source anywhere and extend the signal up to a 1000 feet away. The Component Audio Extender will extend Analog Component video as well as Analog Audio or Digital Audio via SPDIF or TOSlink. All audio is transmitted digitally over the CAT-5e cable and both the analog and digital audio outputs are active on the receiver side. The Component Audio Extender sender unit connects to any Component video and audio source using the supplied Component and 2 RCA audio cables. The receiver unit connects to your HDTV component video display and audio input up to 1000 feet away. One CAT-5e cable is used to connect the sender to receiver for perfect video extension up to 1080p. The sender and receiver both will be powered individually by 5V power supplies. Note: Both analog and digital audio outputs are active on the receiver side when two channel audio is inputted. If multi-channel audio is inputted then the analog audio output will not work. Easy extension for RGB + Audio with excellent HD

If you need to send component video and audio 300 feet or more, this is the way to do it. More expensive than using discreet wires, this needs only 1 Cat5e wire, which makes it much simpler and easier to extend full 1080P HD video. I have used various Gefen boxes before with good results, but I was still unsure how well this system would perform. Rest assured, the video quality is excellent, and the audio is clean. Absolutely no ghosting, softness or color problems, so you will not be able to see a difference in the extended pictures and sound.

Works great over 100ft of shielded CAT-6. Had problems getting picture to sync initially but just needed to tweak the "gain" or whatever the one analog knob is on the receiver side and then everything was perfect. No ghosting or interference or anything like that... works much better than the other non-powered balun I use in a different location.
