4This is the product to use, not the USB version

For the last 2 years, I have been using the Vantage Pro 2 with the USB data logger. I use Ambient's Virtual Weather System to talk to it from my XP server and deliver the data to Weather Underground (and other uses). Every week or so, the communications between the weather station and the server would hang, requiring a re-boot of the server. I upgraded everything to the latest and finally found a note on Ambient's web site suggesting using the serial data logger (this product) instead. It seems to work fine and there have been no hangs. I think the USB version of the data logger is flawed, but this one doesn't seem to be.
