Allergy ArmorTM Ultra mattress and pillow encasings have the smallest pore size in the industry at 2.8 microns. The fine 100% polyester fabric goes through an extra finishing process known as calendaring, in which extreme heat and pressure shrinks the pores (the gaps between the threads).
These microscopic pores allow the fabric to breathe while blocking out allergenic particles. Dust mite allergen averages around 10 microns, but pet dander and mold particles may be as small as 3 microns. Allergy ArmorTM Ultra offers the comfort of luxurious microfiber bedding while keeping you safe from even the smallest allergens. Hard to know if it really works, but seems decent

I decided to bite the bullet and buy the whole package in the hopes that it will ultimately make a difference in my allergies to dust mites, etc. But as anyone who's tried allergy-free bedding probably knows, it's nearly impossible to tell if it's really making all that much difference. But I'm hopeful - and it does give me peace of mind. The covers look rather intimidating to put on when you first take them out of the package - but as long as you have a second person helping you, they slip on fairly easily. YOU DEFINITELY NEED TWO PEOPLE to put them on. Word of warning though- the boxspring cover is vinyl - so the smell is a bit overwhelming at first (but it goes away). And - vinyl tears very easily. Mine suffered a six-inch gash during the whole process and considering the price, I was not a happy camper. But to the company's credit, they sent me a new one right away. The customer service was truly amazing. So if the product is half as good as their customer service, I'm optimistic that the dust mites are being kept at bay.
