5Excellent tool
By John A. Gallahar
I've been playing guitar and bass for almost 50 years. This product is just plain an excellent tool for figuring out bass parts and practicing bass. I recently had to learn the bass parts for a 40 minute set. The Tascam CD-BT2 made it so much easier. In my earlier days we had to learn the parts off the vinyl---which is not easy. I've seen reviews of this product which are so petty and uninformed I can't believe it. The fidelity of the unit when the song is slowed down is not as good as normal speed--but it's quite adequate and excellent for catching fast or tricky runs. The unit is also very easy to use. I've barely had to use the manual. I would advise that you purchase the power adaptor. Alkaline batteries last only about 5 hours.

5Awesome Little Toy!
By Bill McGuffey
I've read quite a few reviews complaining about not being able to completely separate the bass from the song, I really didn't expect to be able to do that. All my life I've learned bass lines from listening to the song over and over. After years of doing that, your ear automatically picks out the bass track. The main thing I bought this for was to slow the songs down a little and learn intricate riffs. Believe me, I have done exactly that. This toy has helped me learn bass lines that were very hard at normal speed, just by making a loop of the part I want to learn, slowing the tempo down (without changing the pitch) and practicing it over and over. I would highly recommend this to any bassist who has a little ear training and wants to keep improving.Unless you want to carry this around with you (along with a pocket full of batteries!)I strongly suggest you buy the power adapter.

5The Tascam Bass Trainer
By guitazzy
I wish that this had been available when I was learning as a kid. Since I never learned to read music I had to listen over and over again to albums and 45's, lifting that needle across that vinyl endlessly. This little piece of technology is great in that you can slow the piece down without changing the key. If there is a particular part of the song that you need to work on, you can make it loop over and over again until you get it. I highly recommend this product, and I give it a five star rating.
