By rescue_mom
I am TERRIBLE on crutches, so I got this knee walker when I had reconstructive surgery on my ankle followed by 2 months of non-weight-bearing. I am VERY happy I got it and it was worth the $. Some general tips: 1) I'm probably stating the obvious here, but a knee scooter isn't going to work for you if you have to use stairs, 2) It's slightly clunky and heavy to haul in & out of the car for whoever is transporting you, 3) Make sure you keep the the handlebar adjustment tight so you don't strip the gripping, 4) Yes, the wheels turn, but the turning radius is not that tight. You will have to lift the scooter to shift it around tight corners, 5) Remember when going into a narrow space, like most bathrooms are, you will either have to scoot in reverse or lift the scooter and turn it 180 to get back out, 6) Mine came in handy a few times as a seat, with the breaks on, if waiting in a long line and SEVERAL times as a footrest if I needed to keep my leg elevated whether out in public or at someone's house.
