Civil War Chess Set

This chess set was wonderful. It was very high quality glass with great Civil War figures.We gave them to our older teens for Christmas an they were thrilled. The value was tremendousand anyone interested in the Civil War would be thrilled with the quality, beauty, and value of the set.It is one of the reasons I enjoy Amazon.

This chess set is quite large and quite heavy--be prepared to set aside a special place for it, as it does not store easily. The pieces and horse heads are large and have nice subtle coloring giving the appearance of the time period. The generals and their wives are large and have excellent detailing in their costumes. Each pawn is identical--in costume and weaponry (although Confederates and Union are different from each other) They are made of resin and can break. The glass "board" is heavy and sturdy. Highly recommend this set for a civil war enthusiast.

Purchased tis set for a gift for a 12 year old nephew who is into chess and civil war history.He loved it after opening it. Pieces are very good size and easy for a younster of 12 to handle.Couple of pieces were damaged in shipment but a quick email to seller and pieces are being replaced.Thanks to Linda V.Recommended Seller and Great ChessSet
