Small, attractive - astonishing sound at this price point

The quality of low-end loud speakers has been increasing steadily for years. But even in that context you usually get what you pay for. In this case $140.00 - tax shipping included got me way more than I bargained for.The soundstage is broad and smooth if not overly precise. Depth is sacrificed for openness. Highs can become harsh at high volumes. Base is good but a sub definitely helps to fill things out.Still the sound quality should be more than adequate for all but the less than 10% of listeners who could be called critical or extremely critical listeners.Unless you are certain you can hear system differences that most people cannot - you need look no further.

Good bookshelf speakers

I'm using these in a bedroom with a low-wattage amp, and they still sound good. I can't put speakers in an ideal location, and listening location varies around the room. But these speakers are able to overcome such difficulties with ease, producing an acceptable sound throughout the room. That's the main reason I bought them - omnipolar technology is relatively less placement sensitive than most speakers. Played within their limits, the overall sound is pleasing.
